it’s just….earlier this year I was blessed to be called to be the Music Director for our little branch. It was a pretty easy calling, choosing hymns and leading the congregation and though I felt the need for a challenge, I was still content with the calling I had been blessed with.
Well, we all know the Lord knows our needs and soon enough our branch music chair had to leave town through October until December. She smiled and told me that she was confident that the Christmas program planning and performance would be fine in my hands. I then began directing our little choir as we prepared for our Branches very first Christmas program. I was amazed at all the unique and willing talent from High Soprano to very Low Bass. I found myself presented with a new challenge – the low basses range was limited to the lowest ‘C’ octaves – c below middle ‘c’ to an octave below. I really enjoyed writing and arranging this hymns and hope that you will enjoy them too.
On the Christmas music page, you will find the arrangements I created so all my willing singers could have parts in their ranges. Most of these hymns were arranged so they could either be played with the hymnal arrangement, a Sally DeFord arrangement or the written arrangement in the piece. Many of these hymns arrangements were written quickly, with lots of testing and adjustments made.
Unfortunately I am not a pianist, so the accompaniments are either super-simple or I have written them with the intent to have the original piano accompaniment played with the hymn.
As usual, all my arrangements are free for download and can be used for non-commercial and church performances.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas,
Elizabeth 🙂
