Christmas

christmas-music-02Christmas Sheet Music for Simplified Organ

I love Christmas music! Listening to, and singing, this sacred music strengthens my testimony and warms my heart in gratitude for the precious gift of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Music, to me, is such an spiritual experience.  I explain to my children that it is math at it loveliest, as it twirls in a dance of emotion and expression, filling the heart while singing of hope and joy ~ elevating the soul to a more heavenly sphere.

From the gentle strains of ‘Silent Night’ to the bold testimony of ‘Joy to the World’ our hearts are brought to acknowledge this eternal truth: Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior of the world!

I have written and uploaded 9+ Christmas hymn organ arrangements below…

These LDS hymnal arrangements are free, please remember that they are intended for the LDS organist in a non-commercial use setting.

Angels_We_Have_Heard_on_High ~ Hymn # 203
This arrangement, written for choir with organ, is split at the chorus with left-hand alto,
right-hand soprano and the pedal supporting the bass clef.
It is different, but with a bit of practice and some fancy footwork, it really sounds nice.

Angels_We_Have_Heard_on_High-Traditional for Organ ~ Hymn # 203
This is the traditional hymn with the simple pedal added.

Away_in_a_Manger ~ Hymn #206

Joy_to_the_World ~ Hymn # 201
(updated 12-6-14)

Oh_Come_All_Ye_Faithful – SATBB ~ Hymn # 202

Silent_Night Hymn # 204  (updated 12-6-14)

Uploaded December 14, 2014…

#209 Hark!_The_Herald_Angels_Sing – accompaniment only, no text  (no time to format for words – can be used for sacrament meeting.)

#205 Once_in_Royal_David’s_City

#210 With_Wondering_Awe

 more to come…..

Choir Arrangements:

Candlelight_Carol 1 flat – transposed to a single Bb!

Improved Version! NEW UPLOAD 12/02/2022
MUCH easier to play and sing!

I also made some significant changes to the piano and a significant change to the chorus of the Rutter, Candlelight Carol to pull in a previous version I had written for a children’s choir in the 1990s.  There is a phrase change in the middle of the song from the original: ‘Godhead Incarnate and hope of salvation to ‘Son of a Father who dwells in the heavens.’. I don’t know who penned these changed words – I just remember singing them instead of the original words a few decades ago.  Enjoy! 🙂

(Oh Come, Oh Come, Emmanuel SATB – coming soon...correction – not coming soon…maybe next year.)

2015 Choir Music w/piano accompaniment:

I am not a pianist, so the accompaniments are either super-simple or I have written them with the intent to have the original piano accompaniment played with the hymn.

All my arrangements are free for download and can be used for non-commercial and church performances.

Hymn # 203 ~ Angels_We_Have_Heard_on_High- SSATBB Choir Arrangement  This arrangement has a Low Bass part.  Suggestion:  This really sounds pretty when the Sopranos begins by singing in acapella until the Altos join in at measure 5.

Hymn #42 Childrens Songbook ~ Away_In_a_Manger-Duet SATBB

Hymn #202  ~ Oh_Come_All_Ye_Faithful – SATBB  The piano accompaniment lacks beauty, but this hymn can be played with standard hymn book arrangements – if you have a strong bass section.

Hymn #208 ~ Oh_Little_Town_of_Bethlehem-SATBB Choir Version – condensed  This also can be accompanied by the standard hymnbook if the piano is not to taste.

Enjoy!  Merry Christmas!
