I look forward to taking the sacrament each week. Knowing I can gain forgiveness for my errors and become clean again, like the moment I was baptized, gives me motivation to improve and strengthens my hope of eternal life.
Partaking of the sacrament is a holy experience. It is an opportunity for us to accept Christs atonement in our behalf and renew our affections and commitment to Christs teachings and the covenants we have made at the font and in the temple.
Because this is such a sacred experience, the Lord has designated the singing of specific hymns of prayer and praise to help us reflect upon this saving ordinance and remember that it is only through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ we are saved.
Sacrament hymns help us to remember Christ as they set an atmosphere of reverence and gratitude for his precious gift.
Below are sacrament hymns for the pedal organ. All the hymns that I have posted have been for the beginner and intermediate pedal organist. There are many sites and books that have standard organ keyboard arrangements. I want to share what I can to help the beginner get started on the foot pedals which, I think, add an extra depth of beauty to sacred music.
All my arrangements are free so Enjoy!
