A billowing feeling of gratitude fills the very center of my soul, when I remember those who sacrificed their all to ensure my freedom to worship and live in a manner pleasing to God ~ without fear or censure.

I learned from a wise sister in the faith, that we need not make a special new flag or rent our coats to pronounce our stance of freedom and liberty, God has already done that.  Our American flag symbolizes all that Moroni agonized over as he rent his cloak and penned these faith inspiring words:

 “In Memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children.”

Captain Moroni and The Title of Liberty,
Book of Mormon ~ Alma 46:13

So post your flags and let your title of liberty be flown, over the housetops, off your porches, at your churches and in your heart!

I am very grateful that God has placed me here to live in this choice land. I feel a kinship to my ancestors of the Celtic regions who suffered many hardships to ensure that their children and descendants would be able to enjoy the freedoms that they themselves sought for.

The next time you sing hymns or songs of praise to those who have fought for us and as you pledge your allegiance to a constitutional cause, please remember those who fight for freedom for you, your children, their children and the future generations to come. It is they who carry this modern Title of Liberty today that we may enjoy our liberty tomorrow.

Remember, above all, to thank our God for the blessed privilege of living in such a temporally blessed land.  Especially, for the gift of freedom to live in the most spiritually blessed land in the world ~ a choice land, above all other lands~where Zion will soon be made manifest and His glorious promises will come to pass.  🙂

“…we have obtained a land of promise, a land which is choice above all other lands;…and if it so be that they shall serve Him according to the commandments which He hath given, it shall be a land of liberty unto them…”

Oh My Father, hymn # 292, is a hymn of hope.

We often travel through life wondering about our origins, waiting for some sign of comfort that we are indeed divine sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father.  When I was young, I would gaze up at the stars wondering and contemplating, knowing somehow, that somewhere within me, there was a terribly faded memory of belonging that I knew I missed, but did not know from where.The original life-size bronze sculpture of 'Come Unto Me', by Jerry Anderson, sets in the Spilsbury Mortuary in St. George Utah.

When I learned who I was, a loved daughter of heavenly parents, both of whom had expectations of me returning to them when I finished my growth on earth; the heavenly home from where I first resided; and where I was destined to return when my morality fulfilled itself; I finally found the answers to the questions I had sought after during my youth.

Oh My Father, Hymn 292, aptly communicates the inner searching of the soul, the testimony of discovering divine parentage, and a hope of returning, someday, to our place of origin, among loving parents and family in a glorious heavenly realm.

I hope too that my divine parents will be happy to see me and that I will have completed the course I set out to do, as imperfect as I am, and that I, too, can be greeted with ‘mutual approbation’.

Come, Come Ye Saints, Hymn # 30 is FINALLY available for download!!!

Come, Come Ye Saints is a well known and well loved hymn. Often identified as a ‘Mormon’ hymn, penned by William Clayton in April of 1846 by Locust Creek in Iowa.
It was originally titled “All Is Well“.

Exiled from Nauvoo and forced to endure the harshness of the
February – April elements, these words touch the heart with the enduring testimony of their faith and trust in the Lord.

When I sing these words, I remember their sufferings. I also remember that no matter the trial I endure upon the earth, all will be well and, I know, I can look forward to eternal happiness with my family after this life.

Come Follow Me is such beautiful poetry set to music. A reminder of how emulating the Saviors example and following his way leads to inner peace and outer happiness.

When we align our will to Gods will in our everyday lives and the choices we make, we will blessed.
We will find ourselves becoming a happier people regardless of the turmoil, in the world and sometimes, in our lives.

This hymn is a poetic ballad of the moments leading up to Joseph Smith’s glorious vision of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the sacred grove and his culminating feelings of what he experienced.

A beautiful and faith inspiring piece.

This simplified hymn for organ has a tiny bit more technic’s in the left hand than most, but to keep in musical congruence, the moving notes needed to remain.

***New Note:  I updated the link to this hymn June 28, 2014, after cleaning up some formatting issues and changing two notes in the organ part.  I changed measures 7 and 11 and made them whole notes. ***
New Update 7/06/14:  I changed the pedal note in the 3rd measure to a ‘C’ and added an ‘F’ and an ‘A’ in the tenor line.  I then connected many notes together to reflect how I played it on the organ to provide a more legato sound
